Sealants

Sealants are recommended for children and for adults who are prone to cavities. Decay is most in the prevalent form in the back teeth (premolars and molars) because that's where deep grooves form on the biting surfaces. Plaque collects in these grooves and cause cavities. To keep healthy teeth cavity free, sealants can be applied to the chewing surfaces. This prevent bacteria from sticking around long enough to cause damage, thus keeping teeth cavity free on the surface.

Sealing teeth is quick and easy and pain free. A dentist simply brushes the light curing liquid sealant onto the teeth, shines a light on it and it quickly hardens on top of the teeth. not As long as they are intact, sealants will prevent cavities from forming on the chewing surfaces.

But remember, sealants do not prevent decay between teeth; only fluoride, flossing, proper diet and continuous checkups do.
